Xiaomi Mi Mix: The Bezel-less Smartphone Beauty

xiaomi mi max bezelless phone review and specs at suratnow
The Xiaomi Mi Mix, the new world’s most interesting phone in my opinion. The Bezel-less beauty that is exactly what this phone stand for. Of course this is not a totally new concept in Smartphone world, there is a smartphone named Sharp Aquos Crystal with Same bezel-less design, which was released almost 3 years ago.

Small Chin for Bezel-less Smartphone

But there is a big difference in both of them. That Sharp Aquos Crystal is with Big Chin, which kinda look like too old fashion. So, Xiaomi corrected it with reincarnation of that concept with Xiaomi Mi Mix.

It is beautiful, I love seeing companies go all-in on like crazy unique Gambles like this. People like to keep saying smartphones are boring. Wll, sure we have technically seen this before but this phone takes it to the next level.

Maximized Screen to Body Ratio

Xiaomi Mi Mix has 91.3% screen to body ratio. So, almost no bezel on any of the three top sides and a small chin. Huge display flows right up to the edges of the phone.

So, it just kind of looks and feels like you are holding just the display in your hands. It looks like the future and this time it is a 6.4 inch display.

So, you are fitting an absolutely huge screen into the footprint of just a little bit larger than some phones today that have a 5.5 inch display. It is obviously still going to be a huge phone for pretty much everyone. Obviously you can’t reach all the edges with one hand.

Everything at Chin of the phone

Xiaomi thought of this and included in the software unique little-little feature to bring the navigation buttons further up, reachable on the display. So, you  can reach anytime.

Fact: This is also actually a 17:9 display which is why videos don’t completely fill it like they did with the Crystal. But pretty much everything else does.

Curved Corners

Especially if you capture your own media and the corners are curved, I don’t know, how much resolution from the official number you are going to be losing from this, but that curve that is pretty.

All four corners of the display are curved and like I said the Chin isn’t even that big this time. You still have all your display drivers and your hardware and the Front facing camera and everything down there. But it is now all in a chin that is still smaller than the one in the Google Pixel. Which isn’t even bezel-less obviously.

It really makes other phones bezels and edges look big, so the advantage again to having this display go right up to the edges.

Taking Photos and Videos

The camera, the viewfinder looks amazing. It kinda looks fake at first actually but yet taking photos and videos with this camera is really immersive.

Watching videos also dope when it is a native video, since it is a 17:9 display, you also leave the navigation buttons up and don’t lose any screen. But If it is YouTube or some third party app, it has been out buttons and they get little black bars. Still looks pretty great though.

Generally, everything involving content, you are going to have this much more immersive experience. The display looks great, You are going to like a sick high-resolution wallpaper. Get all your apps and games, they are going to look great going all the way to the edge.

What about Accidental Touches over the Edges?

Now, the disadvantages.

First of all, because it is so close the the edge, accidental touches. But edge rejection and the software already seems pretty good. So, that is a good sign. So, the biggest Disadvantage now is probably durability.

Don’t Drop it

Because you know if you drop this thing without a case, it doesn’t stand a chance with almost no protection and this polish ceramic body is about the slipperiest phone of all time.

As far as I know there is only one case for it. The one that comes in the box with no skins for it. So, it’s incredibly slick, If you don’t like the included case, you are out of luck, but I guess at least the one that comes with is actually pretty nice and keeping the modern look and a pretty frame-less image.

Android v6.0 with MIUI

Now, this is already miles past of Sharp Aquos Crystal, as far as usability. It is running Android Marshmallow with MIUI on the top of it. We already saw the usability features for having the big screen and it is because this phone is actually going to be sold. It has a price roughly 35K INR (For 128GB) -40K INR (For 256GB).

Top-Notch Specs

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi Mix is a smartphone concepts like dream come to life and I am more than happy to share this kind of stuff with the world. An easy rout for company, you have never heard of. If you just build something, that is really close to what is already familiar with people. That is a big reason why you see so many iPhone clones, but this crazy gamble of a phone that they actually made, that is actually meant to be sold.

It is like if you said smartphone design was getting boring this one is for you. Welcome to the new era of smartphone. It does well enough over in China that they do bring it over the world. I am glad it exists.

What do you think? Would you go for this? Will this device success everywhere else like it does in china? Let me know in the comments section below.
