Unique Uses of Camera in Android Smartphone that you don’t know.

Camera in android phones we use just to take pictures and Videos. But there is more to it. There are few amazing things you can do with your android smartphone camera, except taking pictures and recording videos.

What are unique use of camera in Smartphone?

1. To check Infrared Signal

Camera can show us Infrared Signal which is not visible for Human Eyes. With that you can check your TV remote control, which also operate on Infrared Signals.

You can check CCTV cameras with this too. If CCTV camera is online or powered on that CCTV camera (Mostly night vision cameras) project IR Signals, which also can be seen by any camera.

2. Measures Heart Bit Rate

Do you want to measure your heart bit? Then your Smartphone camera with Flash light can do it. There is a application on Google Play store called “CardioGraph“.

With this application you can measure your heart bit using your Camera and Flash Light. To do so you just need to put your fingertip on your Primary camera lens(Rear Camera) and press Start. Within some time it will show you your heart bit rate.

3. Measure Distance from Objects.

You can measure distance from objects using your camera. There is an application called “Smart Distance” available in free on play store. That application measure your distance from the object using Camera and Gyroscope. This application is also easy to use.

To measure the distance between you and object you have to input Object’s height or width. Then select that much area which appears from your phone camera in this application. That will tell you approximate distance from that object.

Means you can use it to measure your ground or property with respect to object from boundary of ground or property. Just input width or height of that object and you will get distance from that.

So if you want to measure boundary of ground, you can just keep a object with known height at boundary of ground and stay in center or from whichever point you want to measure distance. It will give you Distance.

4. Use your Smartphone as Motion Detector CCTV Camera

You can use your smartphone as motion detector CCTV camera AKA Rudimentary Security Camera. This feature capture a picture when it detects motion in camera screen. You can set your old phone which is just lying around your house and you are not using it.

This feature work as motion sensor attached camera which allows you to get a picture of intruders of your area.

You can set it on Good location in your home or office. Where you want to get security. To do that just download an application called “Motion Detector Pro” from Google Play Store.

Start That application and set Email id if you want to get notified with alarm on your Email. Set Motion Sensitivity which is 0-100. That Sensitivity shows ratio of Screen area in which it detected motion vs Total Area.

It means for 0 sensitivity it will detect minor to minor motion and for 100 it will detect any object that disturbed full screen view of camera.

This application is easy to set up, you can customize as your liking. In which it allows you to set up triggering timeout which is 10 sec to 1 hr. In which you can set time interval between two triggers. You can set storage location which also allows cloud storage too.
