Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro Review: Best Low Budget phone?

Samsung has been focused on their Flagship smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung is being successful with those, but as you mention low budget smartphones, Samsung is struggling very badly.

Samsung did try to attract customers with their low budget smartphones before, but problem is whatever they provide in the price, there is always a better option at the same price or may be at lower price.

That being said, Samsung has done something really good this time. Samsung has come with their new low budget smartphone the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro. If you consider the specification sheet, than you can say that for sure that this smartphone could be the best option available from Samsung at least.

Before this Samsung given many other options at low budget, but those were priced above 10,000 INR. The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro costs only 7,990 INR. And comparing the specifications sheet this is the best option from Samsung.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro comes with 2 GB of RAM, not only that but it is also powered by 1.5 GHz quad core processor and it has Snapdragon 410 chipset. Which is quite good for this price range. At least it is for companies reputed high as Samsung.

You can say that juggling between two different apps will not be an issue with the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro, it will also offer a smooth multitasking experience, you can use multiple apps simultaneously.

But, you can not compare performance of this smartphone with other from higher price or smartphones from different manufacturers. It is able to run a high end graphics game like Asphalt 8.

Design & Build Quality

Well, build quality of the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro is not the plus point of the phone, but what they give you is appreciable. The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro comes with the back coated with leather to improve the grip on the phone.

The sides of the phone is made of plastic, but they did try to keep it look like a metal. As far as the design goes, I am very disappointed with the colour combination they used on the front side of the phone.

It is good with the Black Colour model, but for white and Golden colour, the black frame around the screen and the front camera looks pretty lame.

Super AMOLED Display

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro supports a Super AMOLED screen of 5 inch. With the resolution of 720 x 1280 Pixels. Screen resolution is just classic and not stretched and being a Super AMOLED screen it is sure to give crystal clear visuals.

Camera

As always, this is the most important part in the smartphone review. Cameras you get on Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro are not the greatest. With this price other manufacturers do serve better Cameras on the device.

But yet it is good as this being a Samsung brand smartphone. Rear primary camera is of 8 MP. Which is accompanied by 5 MP of front camera. On the rear side there is LED Flash for better results in low light.

Both of the Cameras have aperture of f/2.2 which is just above the average. So, it should be good. Especially when you consider the price and the brand, we can not ask for anything more.

But in real, if we consider the quality of the pictures the camera takes, it is bad. Camera quality is disappointing here. We have seen so many low budget smartphones with Good Camera quality like Oppo A37, Xiaomi Redmi 4, Smartron Srt phone and Honor 6X.

S Bike Mode

This is being a big selling point for Samsung. All the new Samsung devices are lased with the S Bike mode. Which can prevent accidents that caused by talking on the phone while riding. Which is very useful if you enable it.

Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro has the S Bike mode too, just enable S bike mode and the callers will be informed with pre-recorded messages that you are riding. Also if that call is urgent or very important, they do have option for that to inform user to attend call.

Ultra Data Saving Mode

This is another mode which Samsung provides in almost every smartphone of their. Ultra Data Saving mode save your Internet data up to 50%. You will get this mode on Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro too.

The Ultra Data Saving Mode compresses the data and restricts background applications to use your Data, which is pretty useful with your limited internet pack.

But if you have unlimited Data pack which is very likely to have after Jio effect, it is almost , but it can improve your internet speed by restricting background applications to use your Internet Data.

Battery & Charging

Well, this section looks weakest in the whole Specifications sheet, the Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro is powered by a 2600 mAh battery, which is pretty average.

But again if you consider the Snapdragon 410 chipset, this much battery could run you a whole day at least. As the Snapdragon 410 being not that high power consuming chipset, this battery is good enough at this price.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro does not support quick charging technology, which is very likely to be the case for this lower price. You are getting here a microUSB v2.0 with USB On the Go support.

Conclusion:

At the end of the day, I would like to say that if you are a fan of Samsung smartphones, and your budget is low, this is best suitable option for you.

But considering the all pros and cons I can say that there are better options available from other manufacturer and especially if you care about camera this is the last choice for you.

If it is okay to have a bad camera on the smartphone for you, this is your to take, go and get it. But if not than try for other manufacturers for smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 4, Smartron Srt phone and Honor 6X.
