Oppo R11 Plus Overview and Specs: Dual Rear Camera and Selfie Expert

Selfie Expert, this is the tag line for Oppo’s smartphones. Starting from the Oppo F1 to Oppo F3 plus, All those were Selfie Experts. This tag is for those smartphones from Oppo in which Primary Rear Camera is overwhelmed by Front Selfie Camera.

Most of the smartphones, you get rear camera with better specs than front camera, but Oppo and Vivo started Selfie Expert and Moonlight Camera. In smartphones with those tag lines, you get better Selfie Camera than your Primary Camera.

That Gamble of Oppo and Vivo succeed and now they are among the top selling and trusted brands in smartphones. Now, Oppo is going to give you that one high rated single Selfie Camera from the likes of Oppo F3 Plus Selfie Expert and on the back of the smartphone, you will get Dual Camera.

Oppo has just announced their new smartphone Oppo R11 Plus. The Oppo R11 plus can be counted among the high specifications smartphones, it is somewhere around Moto Z2 Play with better Cameras.

Display

Display on the Oppo R11 Plus is AMOLED Display. Screen will be of 6.0 inches which is a big screen and it can’t be handled with one hand easily for any normal person. Excepts for someone with giant’s hands. It is full HD display with very classic resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which means you won’t get any stretched resolutions like LG G6 or Samsung Galaxy S8.

Pixel density of the display is 367 pixels per inch, which is not that great. But it is good enough. Screen is going to have corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection, but the IP rating is not provided yet. So, we don’t know if this is going to be a water and dust resistant or not.

But you better be counting on Oppo R11 Plus without those. I don’t think Oppo R11 Plus is going to be water and dust resistant, which is pretty bad with this kind of smartphone, especially with high prices.

Camera

This is the point, on which their smartphones are being sold and going to be sold. Main concentration for Oppo in Smartphones is Camera from the beginning. When first they launched smartphone with flipping camera, in which you can use your both camera as front or rear.

This is no different from others. Oppo is going to provide Front camera of 20 MP, which makes it equal to their Selfie Expert Series. 20 MP camera  with aperture of f/2.0 is bound to be a good camera.

Here comes the main attraction of the day, Dual rear Cameras. Oppo R11 Plus has dual rear Camera. One of them is of 20 MP with aperture of f/2.6 and auto focus and another is going be of 16 MP with aperture of f/1.7 and Phase Detection auto focus.

So, bokeh effect will be the attraction on this smartphone, along side this great combo of camera is bound to give you best performance. As long as cameras concern, Oppo is going to be on the top of the list for camera. Video recording on this smartphone will be of 2160p @ 30 frame per second.

Battery and Charger

The Oppo R11 plus is coming with 4000 mAh Li-Po non removable battery. So, you can say that your mobile will last long somewhere near, two whole days. On the other hand you are getting VOOC fast charging support. So, it is bound to get charge in less time.

The Oppo R11 Plus has only microUSB v2.0, which is not good for smartphone with this price. Most of the smartphones priced above 15-20K INR, have USB Type C connector.

Software

Android OS on the Oppo R11 plus is the latest one in the market. Android v7.1.1 Nougat. It is possible that after official release of the Android O v8.0, this phone can get operating system update.

That being said, you are getting Color OS 3.1 from Oppo too. So, those who are familiar with Oppo smartphones won’t have any trouble operating it or getting used to it. For the rest of us, it is better to get used to sooner or later.

Performance

Talking about performance, performance is not forte of Oppo. It is based on Camera , so you get better Camera performance. But performance of the smartphone is not that disappointing. It is having 6 GB of RAM along with Snapdragon 660 processor.

Well, in any other case I would be saying this is not fair to give just Snapdragon 660 in the smartphone that costs around 36,000/- INR or more than that. Yes, The Oppo R11 Plus is going to be priced around 36K Inr. But when you are getting cameras this good, it is good to keep our mouth shut.

After all we are not getting this high camera on any of other high end smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6. But I am bored with just seeing camera based smartphone from Oppo. I hope that in next model they provide the latest and the best processor in smartphone.

  • Hybrid SIM slot

Expected Release date and Price:

This smartphone is expected to be released in late July, 2017. Expected price in India would be somewhere in between 35,000 – 37,000 INR.

Conclusion:

Oppo stands for Camera smartphones, so if you are going for Oppo than it is for sure that you like camera smartphone. This is no different from others. If you look for camera mostly on your smartphone than this could be your choice.

If you are a fan of having smartphone with some special feature, this is not for you. If you like smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG G6, maintain your distance with this. This smartphone doesn’t have any special feature or I would say Iconic feature except for camera.

Only uniqueness of this smartphone is its camera, that is only selling point for this. As far as processor and other specifications concern, all of those are pretty damn average for smartphone cost this high.
