How to Make Hidden and System Hidden Folders or Files without any software?

Many of us used to hide their folders or files to secure them from unauthorized access. Your data is valuable for you. i am showing you two way to hide your folder.

  1. Hidding A Folder Normally
  2. Make A System Hidden Folders.

=> Hiding A Folder Normally 

Most of people hide folder by following steps

  1. Right Click on folder.
  2. Select property from context menu.
  3. Under general Tab, Tick checkbox before Hidden attribute.

  4. Press OK.
  5. Prompt Dialogue box will ask for hiding only folder or file too. Select your Choice
  6. Press Ok to done.
  7. if you still see hidden folder than your show hidden folder setting is on. to off this setting follow below step
  8. press alt+t to open tools menu select folder options.Folder Options
  9. as you select folder options, folder options window will open, now select view tab,
  10. click on radio button, don’t show hidden files folder and drives.dont show hidden files and folders

This is way simple for securing data. If someone knows file name which reside inside hidden folder than they can search it.

So, Hide your folder with following trick.This will hide your folder very well and as search result cant detect the system folder It is very useful.

=>Make A System Hidden Folder

To Make folder System hidden you need to follow steps mentioned below.

  1.  Open Command Prompt. Type cmd in Run and enter or Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
  2.  you have to enter path to your folder which you want to hide.
    To do it Type “cd  pathToTheFolder”
  3. Now Type following command
    To Hide =>   “attrib +s +h folderName”
    where +s indicates system and +h indicates hide
    – suppose i want to hide folder named “hide this” which is inside D:/tutorial than my command will be as shown in below image

    To Unhide => “attrib -s -h folderName”

=> To View A System Hidden Folder

If you only want to see system hidden folder then you should read below steps.

  1. press alt+t to open tools menu select folder options or Click on Organize>Folder and search option.Folder Options
  2. as you select folder option, folder options window will open, now select view tab,
  3. Uncheck  Hide Protected Operating System Files
